Intro to DaVinci Resolve

Saturdays Nov 7, 14, 21 & Dec 5  |  2:00-5:00pm
3520 SE Yamhill St, Portland
$300
This four-week workshop is a top-to-tail introduction to DaVinci Resolve from a color grading and picture finishing perspective. You'll get a comprehensive look at each step of the picture finishing process, from picture lock through deliverables.

Media and equipment are provided for hands-on practice with each stage: conforming the edit in Resolve, setting up a color science pipeline and prepping a project for grading, working with basic and advanced grading tools and techniques, and final delivery. Along the way you'll learn to navigate the Edit page, build a node structure, read scopes, output LUTs, grade day-for-night, map a 5.1 audio mix, and more. We'll also cover equipment standards and considerations for anyone looking to build out a color workspace.

All skill levels are welcome, but some basic editing experience is recommended. You're welcome to bring your own footage and use class time to work on current projects. In the final session, there will be time to screen a short excerpt of your color work.

Participants need to bring their own external hard drive with at least 1TB storage.
