DIY DOC WORKS

DIY DOCUMENTARY – TOGETHER

DIY DOC WORKS is a weekly meet-up for anyone with a project. No matter your level of experience or the state of your project. You might just be starting to think about a story, you might be deep in to production, you might be promoting, and distributing a finished project.

These meet ups are a chance to come together, learn about other projects, and find community, accountability, and motivation

Meetings are held in NW Documentary’s space at the Sunnyside Community Center on Tuesdays at 7pm.

F.A.Q.

We will open with chairs in a circle and go around the room sharing an update or description about their project.

We might show clips from one of the projects, have a speaker or presentation on a specific topic, or break early and hang out. The people and projects in the group will determine else might be offered.

You should be working on a documentary film / video project. You might just be starting and exploring potential ideas, you might be in the thick of production, or organizing screenings and planning distribution. Any stage in a project’s life is fine.

We hope that you will share details about your project and your experience: funny stories; updates on progress; set-backs; bone headed mistakes; pro-tips; etc.

This is not a critique or workshop. Please only offer critical feedback if it’s been requested. We hope everyone will contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment.
